There’s a lot happening at Lake Mathews Elementary this month!

From walking and rolling to school to Trunk or Treat, Spirit Night, Unity Day, and more, there are plenty of ways for our Bobcat families to get involved.

The 2026–2027 National PTA Reflections Program is here, and this year’s theme is:

Every family has a story. Every student has a voice. And every culture has traditions, experiences, and perspectives worth celebrating! 🌍💙

We’re inviting our Lake Mathews Elementary Bobcats to get creative and show us what culture means to YOU. Students can express themselves through:

🎥 Film Production
✍️ Literature
🎵 Music Composition
📸 Photography
🎨 Visual Arts

Culture can be expressed in so many ways—from family traditions, food, music and celebrations to language, heritage, community, values, and the experiences that make each of us unique. There is no single way to tell your story!

National fire prevention week

Next Week is National Fire Prevention Week!

October 4–10 is National Fire Prevention Week, and it’s a great time for our Bobcat families to talk about fire safety at home.

This week, take a few minutes as a family to check your smoke alarms, identify two ways out of every room, choose a safe meeting place, and practice your family fire escape plan.

A little preparation can make a BIG difference.

Walk, BIKE & Roll to school

BOBCATS, GET READY TO WALK, BIKE & ROLL!

Join us next week on Wednesday, October 7 for Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day!

Meet us at Victoria Grove Park beginning at 7:35 a.m.
We’ll head to school together at 7:45 a.m.

Grab your walking shoes, scooters, or bikes and start the school day with some fresh air, movement, and Bobcat community spirit!

Helmets are required for all bike riders.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to join us!

We can’t wait to see our Bobcats rolling into school together!
